History of dance music

What state was the dance music industry in during 2003?

In the Guardian they said that dance music was in decline. The sales were falling, clubs where stating to be closed down and dance magazines were folding. In 2003, it was very tough to get yourself out there. This is because everything was expensive so you would of had to have a lot of money in the bank to start up in the dance music industry.

What technological changes made an impact on dance music? What was the impact?

They where still playing vinyl which, shifted from classic doing vinyl to digital age such as doing it on laptops and computers. Digital music came about so tech became cheaper, access to equipment was easier which was a lot easier if you didn't have the money. Musical production opened up so the masses could afford to make records on the laptop and get them out to people. However, this made music more disposable. The worldwide access to music everybody cancans you don't need to buy a studio.
